Fifth Sunday Ordinary Time
SUNDAY, February 5, 2012 – Fifth Sunday in Ordinary
Time
In the Wake of the Word...
Service and healing become the dominate themes we want you to think on this 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time. They are intertwined in an interesting psychological way as well. When we serve others, we go outside of ourselves and that alone can heal depression. Thinking of others, devoting time to others, visiting the sick, feeding the hungry, calling up friends on the phone – all these things can take us away from ourselves – and strangely, our depression can lift. We are healed by Jesus the psychiatrist, the healer, the giver of hope.
These qualities Jesus brings to us and that we can use in our daily lives to make them better is the GOOD NEWS we bring to you today.
Fr. Javier, our Parish Priest, and the Servite Fathers would like to thank everyone who attended the 28th January Annual Dinner/Dance. Your participation and solidarity towards St. Anthony’s parish resulted in an enjoyable and memorable event. A sincere thank you to all those who contributed their time, in a big or small way, for making it such a success.
All parishioners interested in obtaining their income tax receipt for 2011 can get in touch with the parish office. Thank you.
All parishioners are kindly asked to observe
the NO PARKING signs in front of the priests’ garages facing Gladstone
Avenue. Unauthorized parking on a driveway, as well as parking on the
street in front of a driveway, is a violation subject to fines.
